St. Jude Center Vantage Point is located west of Greenville Ave and south of Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway. It houses 136 residents aged 18 and older. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to support and enrich the lives of our residents through various roles.

Available Volunteer Roles:

Event Support Volunteer
As an Event Support Volunteer, you will have the exciting opportunity to plan and assist with events for our residents. You will help with events such as monthly birthday parties, Bingo nights, movie nights, and holiday parties. Your responsibilities may include:

Event setup Game hosting Event teardown

Front Desk Volunteer
When assisting at the front desk at St. Jude Center Vantage Point, you will be responsible for:

Monitoring who gains access to the building Greeting visitors and checking them in and out Answering phone calls Filing and organizing

Enrichment Workshop Volunteer
Do you have a special talent or craft you’d like to share? We are looking for volunteers to lead workshops that will enrich our residents' experience. Whether it’s Zumba, sewing, or teaching how to prepare a 30-minute meal, you can share your passion and skills with our community.

Qualities Needed: Willingness to listen, show patience, and demonstrate kindness Ability to take direction well and work independently or in pairs Comfortable working with clients who may exhibit varying behaviors and attitudes Why Volunteer with Us? Volunteer: Saturday Morning Breakfast Program Assistance

Support Catholic Charities Staff and students as they lead a breakfast program on Saturday mornings at St. Jude Center-Forest.  The volunteer plays a key role in maintaining a safe, organized, and productive environment. This position includes providing oversight, offering guidance, and supporting students in managing all aspects of the breakfast program.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Assist staff and students leading the breakfast program on Saturday mornings

Provide instructions on prepping and preparing the breakfast

Make a list of items needed for the following week to share with group leadership

Assist with the clean-up of tables and cooking supplies

Oversee that all prep, cooking, and supply items are placed neatly in bins and bins are stacked in the storage closet

Volunteer Outcomes:
The volunteer will is required to maintain a safe and harmonious Saturday morning breakfast program. The volunteer contributes leadership, interaction, and support to maintain the event during the school semester.

A fresh haircut can boost confidence, promote dignity, and help individuals feel their best as they work toward stability and self-sufficiency.

What You'll Do: Provide basic haircuts to residents in need. Create a welcoming and supportive environment for clients. Engage in positive conversations and build community connections. Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace following hygiene guidelines. What Makes a Successful Volunteer? Licensed barber or experienced in haircutting.
