St. Jude Center Vantage Point is located west of Greenville Ave and south of Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway. It houses 136 residents aged 18 and older. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to support and enrich the lives of our residents through various roles.

Available Volunteer Roles:

Event Support Volunteer
As an Event Support Volunteer, you will have the exciting opportunity to plan and assist with events for our residents. You will help with events such as monthly birthday parties, Bingo nights, movie nights, and holiday parties. Your responsibilities may include:

Enrichment Workshop Volunteer
Do you have a special talent or craft you’d like to share? We are looking for volunteers to lead workshops that will enrich our residents' experience. Whether it’s Zumba, sewing, or teaching how to prepare a 30-minute meal, you can share your passion and skills with our community.

Brighten a Senior’s Day—And Yours!

Step into a place filled with laughter, stories, and plenty of fun! The Brady Senior Center is a lively hub where older adults gather to enjoy games, great food, and meaningful connections. Located in West Dallas (zipcode 75212), this is a place for seniors to continue growing in their later years by keeping their minds, bodies, and spirits active in a vibrant community setting. It fosters meaningful relationships between seniors, staff, and volunteers—helping to transform what could otherwise be lonely and isolating years into ones filled with connection and purpose.

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make each day special!

Game Assistants

Love a little friendly competition? Help lead bingo, card games, and other fun activities that keep spirits high! Your support will help seniors stay active, engaged, and socially connected.

Duties Include:

Set up and prepare game supplies Keep track of scores and verify winners Encourage and assist seniors, including providing accommodations for those with mobility challenges

Time of Service: Monday- Friday 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Breakfast & Lunch Servers

Fuel the fun by serving warm meals—and even warmer smiles! Help create a welcoming mealtime experience for our seniors.

Duties Include:

Serve breakfast or lunch to seniorsAssist staff in kitchen with preparing foodBe comfortable standing for extended periods Follow food safety guidelines

Breakfast Service: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM

Lunch Service: Monday-Friday 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Bilingual volunteers (English & Spanish) are encouraged ! Spanish is preferred but not required.

As a volunteer in our Refugee Services program, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of individuals and families by supporting their language and academic development. Your involvement will make a lasting difference. What You'll Do: ELI Instructor Volunteer: Deliver linguistically and culturally pre-set lesson plans, workshops, and classes. Provide students with activities and resources to reinforce language skills and build confidence. Track student progress and offer constructive feedback to help learners meet their language goals. Encourage student engagement and create a positive, supportive learning environment. Contact inactive students to encourage program completion and continued learning. Use your barbering skills to make a meaningful difference! We are seeking volunteers to provide free haircuts to residents of our supportive housing community. A fresh haircut can boost confidence, promote dignity, and help individuals feel their best as they work toward stability and self-sufficiency.

What You'll Do: Provide basic haircuts to residents in need. Create a welcoming and supportive environment for clients. Engage in positive conversations and build community connections. Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace following hygiene guidelines. What Makes a Successful Volunteer? Compassionate and respectful toward individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Comfortable working with individuals facing housing instability. Additional Information Time Commitment: Flexible scheduling,License: Must provide a valid Valid Texas barber or cosmetology license Supplies: Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own tools.

The Volunteer Victim Advocate supports individuals who have experienced crime by providing compassionate, trauma-informed assistance and helping them understand what to expect in the justice process. Volunteers work alongside staff and community partners to ensure victims feel supported, informed, and connected to helpful resources.

No prior legal experience is required. Volunteers receive training, clear guidance, and ongoing supervision.

What You’ll Do

With staff support, you may:

Provide emotional support and a calm, respectful presence

Share general information about court processes and victim rights (training provided)

Help clients access resources and referrals

Accompany clients to court or meetings when approved 

Communicate with staff and document interactions as directed

Support refugee children and youth (ages 5–18) as they build English language skills and adjust to the U.S. school system. Facilitate ESL and academic support sessions focused on reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills. Provide individualized or small-group instruction to meet diverse learning levels and needs. Encourage student engagement to promote consistent attendance, participation, and progress. Help students build confidence in communication and develop positive learning habits. Deliver instruction either online or in person, based on program and volunteer availability. We are seeking volunteers who can commit to at least 3 weeks of service to ensure consistency and meaningful support for students. Volunteers who can complete a minimum of 4 sessions are welcome, and longer commitments are encouraged to allow stronger connections and greater impact.

The Translation Volunteer supports individuals and families by helping ensure language is not a barrier when accessing immigration legal services. Volunteers provide accurate, clear translations so clients can better understand important information and feel confident navigating their process. Volunteers work alongside staff to help ensure communication is respectful, accessible, and culturally responsive. No prior legal experience is required. Volunteers receive guidance, templates, and staff support as needed.

Assist with drafting or editing translated materials
