Volunteer: Refugee Services English Language InstructorAs a volunteer in our Refugee Services program, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of individuals and families by supporting their language and academic development. Your involvement will make a lasting difference.
What You'll Do:
ELI Instructor Volunteer:
Deliver linguistically and culturally pre-set lesson plans, workshops, and classes.
Provide students with activities and resources to reinforce language skills and build confidence.
Track student progress and offer constructive feedback to help learners meet their language goals.
Encourage student engagement and create a positive, supportive learning environment.
Contact inactive students to encourage program completion and continued learning.
Support students in applying language skills to daily life, employment, and community integration.
Uphold and support the Mission, Values, and Vision of Catholic Charities of Dallas.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

In this role, you will partner with case managers to facilitate clear communication, ensuring clients can fully access the services and resources they need. This opportunity can be done remotely through phone or video chat or in person, depending on your availability during business hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Languages Needed: Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Arabic Responsibilities: Translate verbal communication between case managers and clients. Support during meetings, appointments, and intake interviews to ensure accurate information exchange. Assist clients in understanding documents and forms in their preferred language. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Requirements: Proficiency in English and at least one of the needed languages (fluent in speaking and understanding).
