Volunteer: Refugee Services RSI English TeacherSupport refugee children and youth (ages 5–18) as they build English language skills and adjust to the U.S. school system. Support the administration of pre- and post-assessments to identify students’ English proficiency levels and learning needs. Create and implement engaging, age-appropriate, and culturally responsive ESL lesson plans. Facilitate ESL and academic support sessions focused on reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills. Provide individualized or small-group instruction to meet diverse learning levels and needs. Encourage student engagement to promote consistent attendance, participation, and progress. Help students build confidence in communication and develop positive learning habits. Deliver instruction either online or in person, based on program and volunteer availability. Report any suspicious or inappropriate behaviors in accordance with agency policy and comply with mandated abuse reporting requirements. Why Volunteer? We are seeking volunteers who can commit to at least 3 weeks of service to ensure consistency and meaningful support for students. Volunteers who can complete a minimum of 4 sessions are welcome, and longer commitments are encouraged to allow stronger connections and greater impact. Ready to Make a Difference?

Minimum Age: 14 and up- parent/guardian must be with minor volunteering. For minors and their parent/guardians, please create a team to respond to indicate you are volunteering together.
