Support the administration of pre- and post-assessments to identify students’ English proficiency levels and learning needs. Create and implement engaging, age-appropriate, and culturally responsive ESL lesson plans. Facilitate ESL and academic support sessions focused on reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills. Provide individualized or small-group instruction to meet diverse learning levels and needs. Encourage student engagement to promote consistent attendance, participation, and progress. Help students build confidence in communication and develop positive learning habits. Deliver instruction either online or in person, based on program and volunteer availability. Report any suspicious or inappropriate behaviors in accordance with agency policy and comply with mandated abuse reporting requirements. Why Volunteer? Track student progress and offer constructive feedback to help learners meet their language goals.
Encourage student engagement and create a positive, supportive learning environment.
Contact inactive students to encourage program completion and continued learning.
Support students in applying language skills to daily life, employment, and community integration.
Uphold and support the Mission, Values, and Vision of Catholic Charities of Dallas.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
