In Ennis, our pantry operates out of a converted shipping container, but don’t let the size fool you! This client choice pantry gives families the opportunity to walk inside and select the groceries that fit their needs and preferences, just like at a traditional store.

Help us reduce hunger in Ennis and the surrounding area by volunteering at our client choice container pantry.

The Ennis Container Pantry is located in the parking lot across from St John Nepomucene Catholic Church.Duties/Responsibilities: 

Greet Clients with and positive attitude   Assist Clients in choosing items for their cart   Replenishing stock of food items on the shelves   Registering Clients at our food pantries   Schedule Clients appointments 

What makes a successful volunteer:   

Able to adhere to safety regulations set in place by the agency   Able to use hands to handle food items and lift medium-sized boxes (between 16 – 20 pounds)   Ability to stand for hours at a time

This multi-phased homelessness and housing project is a collaborative effort between Catholic Charities, Catholic Housing Initiative (CHI), Metrocare, Housing Forward, and more. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to support our residents and enhance their experience at the center.

Event Support Volunteer
As an Event Support Volunteer, you'll have the exciting opportunity to plan and assist with events for our senior residents! You will provide support for monthly birthday parties, Bingo nights, movie nights, and holiday celebrations. Event tasks may include:

Front Desk Volunteer
As a Front Desk Volunteer, you’ll be the welcoming face at St. Jude Center, responsible for ensuring smooth operations at the front desk. Key responsibilities include:

Enrichment Workshop Volunteer

What You’ll Do: Independently assess and document clinical problems. Perform and document assessments and patient histories. Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies. Order appropriate medication and treatments and complete refill requests. Educate patients and their families about health issues, preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices What Makes a Successful Volunteer? Valid and current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license with recognition as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas.
