Who We Are

Mission:

Catholic Charities calls the community to action to join us in addressing the root causes of poverty, hunger, and homelessness by serving, educating and empowering all those in need.

Hunger Services:

Our Food Service Program at CCD is focused on meeting our community’s food needs. Particularly in North Texas, food insecurity is a significant problem, which became further exacerbated by the pandemic. Our three mobile food pantries and refrigerated box trucks now deliver fresh, nutritious food to over 70 different locations monthly, in addition to drive-through and client choice pantries that we staff several days each week. Hundreds of volunteers each month work to distribute food to those in need, helping families extend their household budgets in tight times. This past year, we provided over 6 million meals to more than 135,000 families.

What We Do

The goal Hunger Services Program is to bring food security and healthy meals to non-mobile families by delivering them directly to their communities. Our freezer-and-refrigerator-equipped trucks allow us to bring perishable items (fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, milk, eggs, and more!) to our clients directly. Our Client Choice Pantries allow clients to choose what best fits each family's nutritional needs and preferences.
