Who We Are
Mission:
Catholic Charities calls the community to action to join us in addressing the root causes of poverty, hunger, and homelessness by serving, educating and empowering all those in need.
Financial Stability and Career Services:
Breaking the cycle of poverty is central to our mission at CCD. However, doing so is often daunting for so many people and families, particularly during a crisis like the pandemic. Facing job losses, furloughs, and reduced wages, many families struggle to pay bills and put food on the table. Our team of financial coaches and housing counselors helps educate and empower clients to improve and stabilize their finances.
What We Do
Our program integrates financial education, employment services, career enhancement, homebuyer education, and income support. Our goal is to help clients identify long-term goals to increase their income, savings, and credit score while reducing debt. Of particular importance is the way these services help to reduce poverty, homelessness, food insecurity, and money-related stress that can lead to mental health issues. Though time-consuming, we believe it is much more beneficial to guide and support individuals, so as to help break the cycle of poverty, than it is to merely hand out benefits.
