Position Description: Join us in supporting newly arrived refugee clients by assisting in our Cultural Orientation classes. This vital program helps individuals and families acclimate to their new community by providing essential information about local resources, cultural norms, and daily living in the United states. Your involvement will make a significant difference in helping refugees feel welcomed and empowered.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement: Greet clients warmly upon arrival and guide them to the classroom, ensuring they feel welcomed and comfortable.
  • Support During Breaks: Help set up and serve snacks and beverages during breaks, fostering a relaxed and friendly environment for participants to socialize.
  • Translation Assistance: Provide translation support as needed to ensure all participants understand the material presented. This may involve translating spoken content or written materials. (Spanish)
  • Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with staff to ensure the smooth running of the class, addressing any immediate needs that arise during the session.
