As a volunteer in our Refugee Services program, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of individuals and families by supporting their language and academic development. Your involvement will make a lasting difference.
What You'll Do:
ELI Instructor Volunteer:
- Deliver linguistically and culturally pre-set lesson plans, workshops, and classes.
- Provide students with activities and resources to reinforce language skills and build confidence.
- Track student progress and offer constructive feedback to help learners meet their language goals.
- Encourage student engagement and create a positive, supportive learning environment.
- Contact inactive students to encourage program completion and continued learning.
- Support students in applying language skills to daily life, employment, and community integration.
- Uphold and support the Mission, Values, and Vision of Catholic Charities of Dallas.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What You Need:
- No prior experience required—we’ll train you! Helpful skills include:
- Strong communication skills and patience.
- A passion for helping others succeed.
- Experience with tutoring or language instruction is a plus.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is helpful but not required.
