The Translation Volunteer supports individuals and families by helping ensure language is not a barrier when accessing immigration legal services. Volunteers provide accurate, clear translations so clients can better understand important information and feel confident navigating their process. Volunteers work alongside staff to help ensure communication is respectful, accessible, and culturally responsive. No prior legal experience is required. Volunteers receive guidance, templates, and staff support as needed.
What You’ll Do
With staff support, you may:

Translate written documents between Spanish and English (letters, forms, and client communications)

Assist with drafting or editing translated materials

Ensure translations maintain accurate meaning, tone, and context

Support staff with communication needs related to Spanish-speaking clients

Communicate with staff and complete tasks as directed
Volunteers do not provide legal advice or interpret legal strategy.

Qualifications & Skills

Bilingual in English and Spanish (written proficiency required)

Strong attention to detail and grammar skills in both languages

Ability to understand and translate context accurately

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Comfort using Microsoft Office and basic computer tools
Bilingual proficiency is required for this role.
