At our OLPH site, neighbors can walk up, connect with each other, and pick up fresh groceries in a welcoming, open-air setting. This site creates space for conversation, connection, and community care, while making sure everyone leaves with the food they need.
Provide courteous and excellent service to CCD clients while assisting the OLPH pantry. Note that this is an outdoor opportunity.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Bagging or boxing food

Placing food in client vehicle trunks

Replenishing the stock of food items

Assisting with directing traffic
What makes a successful volunteer:

Able to adhere to safety regulations set in place by the agency

Able to use hands to handle food items and lift medium-sized boxes (between 16 – 20 pounds)

Ability to stand for hours at a time

Dependable & reliable
Dress code: Closed-toe shoes are required (no sandals or flip flops). We recommend dressing in comfortable and casual clothes suitable for the season. We recommend sunscreen, sunglasses, work gloves, and hats in the summer months.
Age Requirements: 14 is the minimum age. Volunteers 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times & must submit their Minor Volunteer Waiver before the shift.
Commitment: Our hungry neighbors are counting on you to arrive on time and to stay for the entire shift. If you are unable to complete the full shift, then please log into your account and cancel your registration. We hope you can join us another time.
Parking: The best parking location is street parking on Cortland Avenue and Volunteers can walk toward the Mobile Food Truck in the parking lot. If the Mobile food truck is not there, then volunteers can walk toward the gym of OLPH.
